Woodstock is a beautiful unspoilt town on the edge of the Cotswolds, an area of outstanding natural beauty famous for its rolling hills and honey-coloured stone villages. Woodstock is also home to the stunning Blenheim Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the birthplace of Winston Churchill. This superb palace is one of the best examples of English baroque, and contains many treasures as well as the popular Churchill Exhibition. The palace park and gardens, designed by Capability Brown around a central lake, are renowned for their beauty, and the view on entering the park was described by Lord Randolph Churchill as 'the finest in England.'

A historic town, with royal associations for over 1,000 years, Woodstock is beautifully preserved and extremely pretty, combining the facilities and attractions of a town with the size and peaceful atmosphere of a village. In the centre of Woodstock are the Town Hall, the church and the Museum of Oxfordshire with beautiful gardens to relax in. In the surrounding streets are a delightful collection of antique shops, gift shops, clothes shops and art galleries for the visitor to browse around. Further facilities are a public library and an outdoor swimming pool in the summer. There is an impressive selection of pubs, restaurants and tea rooms, many with romantic ivy-clad facades, beautiful interiors and open fireplaces.
