Dancin' Oxford festival on now

The Dancin’ Oxford festival is celebrating five years of bringing dance to the streets, the theatres, the museums and galleries of Oxford.

The festival started on Saturday 18th March and will run until 28th March 2012. If dance is your thing then this is the festival for you as there are over 30 events going on across the city. 

There are events to watch memorising dance, get involved and try taster sessions and listen to one of the most popular men in dance, Matthew Bourne.

The charming village of Old Marston

Christmas events at Blenheim Palace

Britain's Greatest Palace welcomes all for the festive season to enjoy. A White Christmas’ at Blenheim Palace. From 12th November – 16th December (Wednesday to Sunday inclusive) the magnificent Palace will be decorated with sparkling icicles, snowflakes, and silver white birches. In the Great Court Christmas trees will sparkle in the Colonnades providing a magical festive experience.

Ten Facts About Christ Church (College), Oxford

1  Christ Church is the largest, and one of the most famous, Oxford colleges. However, it is not correct to call it 'Christ Church College' – it should be called 'Christ Church' only, or informally, ‘The House’.

2  It is the only college in the world which is also a cathedral. It is the smallest cathedral in England and contains the Shrine of St Frideswide. This shrine was built in 1289, and it houses the relics of the 8th century nun, Frideswide, the patron saint of Oxford.
